Possible Birth Defects from Fertility Techniques

A new study shows that families using common fertility techniques are more likely to have infants with birth defects.




Some defects found in the infants include heart problems, cleft lip and palate, and esophagus or rectum abnormalities.

The study included procedures working with sperm and eggs outside of the body, such as in-vitro fertilization.
